When i was a kid I loved Disneyland and their animated cartoons.Who new when I would end up working at WALT DISNEY STUDIOS for 16 years of my life on the animated films "Lion King - Aladin - Beauty & the Beast - Little Mermaid - Tarzan - Hercules - Pocahantus & Treasure Planet even used a pirate alien i designed and named it PIGORS!
Working there was a lot of fun, and If I had never worked there I wouldn't have had the $$$ to start up all my Toxictoons merchandise I have sold over the years. Unfortunately Disney didn't believe you guys wanted to see hand drawn films anymore and laid us all off in 2002. I did get to go back on ,"PRINCESS AND THE FROG" in 2009 and I drew the Cute southern belle Charlete this time ,instead of my usual villians and their side kicks I drew on the films above.
When I was a kid my friends father worked for Walt Disneys WDI on the rides, and he said he was going to build a HAUNTED MANSION ride in their garage. It never happened, but I would peek in their garage window hoping to see it. Maybe that's why I do my spookhouse in my moms garage every Halloween. His father even took us for pizza, then to see the Batmobile & Munsters coach , and then to WALT DISNEY STUDIOS to see Herbie the Love Bug when we where maybe 11. I remember walking thru WALT DISNEY STUDIOS in awe, knowing all those cartoonists who drew the films I loved worked there................ Then I ended up working their 14 years later......Funny how life works out!
